Signing ceremony for e-billing project

Bandar Seri BegawanThe project inauguration for an e-billing integrated system (EBIS) was held at the Ministry of Development building yesterday afternoon. The ceremony began with the recital of the Al-Fatihah followed by a brief explanation on the EBIS project.

In its continuous effort to provide better and quicker services to the public, the Public Works Department launched the EBIS (E-Billing Integrated System), which is a state-of –the-art technology and process, which allows a more effective and efficient way in billing services. The automated process and services will transform and improve its water billing services.

The public can look forward to regular monthly billings, easy access to payment collection counters, handling billing complaints and enquiry service via Internet or over the counter throughout the country. The duration of the project is expected to be about nine months.

Taking part in the signing ceremony were the guest of honour, Haji Brahim bin Haji Ismail, Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) at the Ministry of Development, along with Haji Mohamad Zin Bin Awang Haji Salleh, Acting Director General of Public Works, Abu Hanipah bin Hj Talip, Acting Director of Water Services (Public Works Department), Lt. Kolonel (B) Haji Rosli bin Mohd Ariff, Managing Director of Znet Technologies, and Mr Lim Soon Bee, Manager of Znet Technologies. Znet brought with them Powercomp Automation Sdn Bhd (PCA), a specialist in billing to help with the project.

The Public Works Department has three other eGovernment projects under its management – Project Management Information System Enterprise (PROMISe), Integrated Document Production System (IDPS), and Integrated Maintenance Management System (IMMS). The Ministry of Development has a total of nine eGovernment projects in progress
