The Information
Department website was officially launched yesterday by Permanent Secretary
at the Prime Minister's Office, Pengiran Dato Hj Abdul Hamid Pengiran Hj Mohd
Yassin, at The Centrepoint Hotel, Gadong. The electronic diary
outlining daily activities throughout the nation was created by the
Department of Information, Prime Minister's Office through one of its
e-government initiative. The diary compiles
various categories of events touching on official events, culture, community
interests, leisure, religion, sports, seminars, workshops, exhibitions and

Hamid expressed his appreciation for the determined effort put forth by the
department in successfully implementing the website. This displayed a
positive effort by the department in making the nation's community an
informative society, he noted. He said the government
was continuously striving to develop the nation, build infrastructure, boost
employment opportunities, stabilise the economy to be competitive and uphold
the nation's peace for its citizens to live a peaceful and fulfilling life. The Permanent Secretary
also highlighted the recent titah by His Majesty, which stressed on efforts
to build the economy and increase the level of development. "The sharing of
information is one of the main methods for a small nation like Meanwhile, Director of
Information, Awg Hj Bujang Hj Masu'ut, in his welcoming remarks noted that
the launching of the Brunei Darussalam Daily Diary was the result of the
department's efforts to disseminate information for public utilisation. "The department
will continue to strengthen their work strategies and mechanism to realise
the department's vision of `Quality Information and Excellent Image,
Strengthen nation's Unity and Prosperity'," he added. Members of the public
who wish to submit their events to the website can do so free of charge by
sending it through the website by pressing the "Submit an Event"
icon or email info@bruneidiary.info. They can also contact
