PMO Online is expected
to soon become an integral part of work life at the Prime Ministers Office
in line with the government's initiative to create a 'paperless office', the
Permanent Secretaries of the Attending the training
were PMO officials, including deputies and Senior Administrative Officers. PMO Online is the
e-government platform for the Prime Minister's Office, which seeks to provide
e-Government solutions to help the Prime Minister Office to meet its pressing
challenges and to provide the process, organisational
and technology foundation to enhance operation and improve service levels
through collaboration among their departments. Assisted by the
technical staff from Syabas Technologies, the PMO
Online End User Training session designed to ensure all users be equipped'
with the knowledge and confidence in performing task using the PMO Online
system as well as to enable users to adapt to a new work environment using
ICT tools. Other than teaching
basic computing knowledge, the short training course aimed to enable work
staff to organise meetings, appointments,
collaborate with others through e-meetings, Submit Leave, Out of State and
Training Requests, via the PMO Online system. The Senior Management
Training session was a one-day personalised session
held at the PMO Online Training Facility located at the Computer Services Centre,
Universiti Brunei Darussalam. Present at the training
session were the Permanent Secretaries at the Prime Minister's Office as well
as other Senior Government Officers. The direct participation
of these senior officers gives a tremendous boost to the project as it is
evidence of the leadership's commitment and willingness towards embracing the
