MOUs Signed Between Brunei And Sabah

Kota Kinabalu - Four Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and three Memoranda of Agreement (MoA) were signed between Brunei and Sabah yesterday afternoon.

 

The MoU and MoA cover tourism, agriculture and livestock industry, and information and communication technology.

 

They were signed in conjunction with the visit of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah to Sabah.

 

The Brunei government was represented by Pehin Dato Awg Hj Yahya, the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Department while Datuk Chong Kah Kiat, Chief Minister, represented the State of Sahah.

Both representatives delivered speeches at the ceremony.

 

The signing ceremony at the Sutera Harbour Hotel in Kota Kinabalu was witnessed by Datuk Tham Nyip Shea, Sabah’s Deputy Chief Minister cum the Minister of lndustrial Development, and the Permanent Secretary at the Brunei Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pehin Dato Lim Jock Seng.

 

One of the MoUs is an inaugural effort taken by Brunei Darussalam on government to government Information Technology (IT).

 

It was signed by Brunei Darussalam National IT (BIT) with Sabah State Information Technology Council (SITC) to provide synergistic partnership in IT vision for the nation.

 

Representing the BIT Council at the signing ceremony is its secretary, Tuan Hj Mahmud bin Hj Daud, while the SITC was represented by its secretary, Bruno Vun.
